Raise your hand if you enjoy magic and firearms. Then, head over to Dark Envoy, a new isometric, real-time with slowdown and pause RPG that can be played solo or with online co-op. The demo, available now on Steam Next Fest, allows you to play two missions as one of four classes: ranger, adept, engineer, or warrior. You can also customize your character’s skill tree and perks, and craft and enchant items. Plus, you can adjust the speed of play, use terrain to your advantage, and take advantage of regenerating health and mana on certain parts of the battlefield.
Event Horizon CEO Krzysztof Monkiewicz said in a press release, “Throughout Steam Next Fest we will be listening very closely to our community. We are so excited to share the Dark Envoy Demo with Steam players and look forward to shaping the game with their feedback during this exciting stage of development, aiding us in our mission to invigorate the genre with more dynamic gameplay.”
One of the coolest features of the demo is that some of the spells are hand-drawn. You can make a path of electric zaps that follows your cursor as you draw them onto the battlefield.
If you’re familiar with Event Horizon’s previous game, Tower of Time, you’ll recognize some of the features in Dark Envoy, like larger-scale battles like a miniature RTS. You can find out more about Dark Envoy on Event Horizon’s website and on GOG and Steam. Tower of Time is also available on GOG and Steam.
Hands up if you’re ready to try out Dark Envoy! The demo is now available on Steam Next Fest, so you can explore two missions, two side locations, and customize your character. Plus, you can adjust the speed of play, use terrain to your advantage, and take advantage of regenerating health and mana on certain parts of the battlefield. Don’t miss out on this exciting game!
