Tomb Raider Reloaded, a roguelike mobile game based on Crystal Dynamics’ iconic series, is set to be released on February 14 on iOS, Android, and Netflix. In the game, players control Lara Croft as she goes from room to room, defeating enemies and solving puzzles. As in typical roguelike fashion, Croft will become more powerful as players progress, unlocking XP modifiers, finding stat-boosting Runes and Perks, and crafting weapons and outfits.
Keeley Hawes, who voiced Lara in Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, will be providing the voice for this game, rather than Camilla Luddington, who voiced Lara in Crystal Dynamics’ rebooted trilogy.
This announcement follows Amazon’s recent venture into the Tomb Raider franchise. The company is set to publish the Unreal Engine 5-powered Tomb Raider game in development at Crystal Dynamics and develop TV shows and movies connected to the game.
However, Amazon is not involved with releasing this mobile game, as developer Emerald City Games and Embracer Group-owned publisher CDE Entertainment are handling it. 2023 is certainly a busy year for Lara Croft.
The game will be available for purchase on iOS and Android, but Netflix subscribers can also download a version without any in-game ads or microtransactions. The release of Tomb Raider Reloaded will come right on the heels of the launch of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, another Netflix mobile game based on a notable console game.
