The much-anticipated Indian battle royale game, Indus, has finally launched its gameplay trailer. The trailer shows us what to expect from this mobile battle royale game. The trailer features a blend of Indian classical music and hip-hop and several Indian characters such as SIR-TAJ, Adam, Adya, and more. The graphics are reminiscent of titles such as Valorant and Apex Legends.
The trailer introduces us to the game’s island map, Virlok, which has a futuristic theme based on Indian culture and lush greenery. It also showcases weapons and character skins. Players can play in both third-person and first-person perspectives, though it is not yet clear if players can switch between the two mid-game or if there will be two separate modes for the two.
For those unfamiliar with the battle royale genre, it is a mode where many players (usually around 100) parachute onto a map to fight until one person is left standing. The game is developed by SuperGaming, a Pune-based gaming studio, to put India on the global gaming map. SuperGaming launched the trailer of Indus in New York Times Square last year to promote the game.
Pre-registrations for Indus are now live on Google Play for Android. Pre-registration for iOS will open soon. According to the company, pre-registration will fetch players exclusive surprises. To pre-register, search ‘Indus’ on Play Store, open the listing, and hit the green ‘Pre-register’ button.
Indus was initially scheduled for a 2022 release, but it has been delayed since SuperGaming has yet to provide a definitive date. The company says that it will hold multiple communities playtest throughout the year so that people can experience the game and provide feedback.
Earlier, FAU-G or Fearless and United Guards were released by Bengaluru-based company nCORE Games. FAU-G managed to draw eyeballs with the involvement of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and even got millions of pre-registrations. However, it soon faded due to a poor storyline, amateur action sequences, and terrible gameplay.
So, if you’re looking forward to playing a battle royale game with an Indian theme, you can pre-register for Indus now. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates about the game as it nears its release.
